Having followed in full, blow by blow, the last three US presidential elections, it is perhaps quite natural that I be held captive by the goings on around the manifestation that is Trump. No, I do not go out of my way to track his tweets, etc, since the whole drama, not funny though, is in your face. You just cannot avoid it.

My warning and advice to Nigerians is to project scenarios where President Trump’s action in fulfilling his many promises to his ardent supporters and nation, may prove adverse to our own national interest. We should prepare for it. The recent travel ban is an easy guess. It may be a simple matter of destabizing our subregion. By a mis-step. Who knows?
This problem with the truth, facts, lies and everything in between has been eating me up from the inside. Based on the statements emanating from the Trump Transition in the days immediately after the election was won and lost, I had shared my misgivings with others. IF THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION SIGNS AN AGREEMENT WITH NIGERIA, ON ANY MATTER, WILL IT HONOUR IT? What is the place for trust and consistency in interpretation regarding bilateral relationships? I do not envy Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gregory Onyeama going forward.
Finally, I invite my friend and ardent supporter, nay apologist, of Donald Trump in the person of David Onyiuke to do a proper rebuttal of this my line of thought and allay my/our fears. Yes, only from the Nigerian perspective. The Americans have their lives to live. So do we. Unfortunately it is now a global village. Trump's truths and lies do matter.
